Bore sequence
From survey to as-built

Preliminary survey
Every project begins by identifying all utilities and underground obstructions before anything breaks ground.

Engineered bore plan
Our drilling operators engineer the bore plan from the survey data so the path meets every specification on the job.

Pilot bore
Once the pathway is approved by our operator and the client, the operator bores the pilot along the engineered path.

Plan and profile as-built
Drill data from Ditch Witch TKD software is exported into AutoCAD and issued as a plan and profile of the installed pipe.
Definition
Horizontal directional drilling
HDD is a steerable trenchless method of installing underground pipes, conduits and cables in a shallow arc along a prescribed bore path, using a surface-launched drilling rig with minimal impact on the surrounding area. It is used where trenching or excavating is not practical, and suits a range of soil conditions and applications, including road, landscape and river crossings.

Underground is not on our DIR contract
DIR-CPO-4781 covers cabling services and related products. Standalone civil work — boring, trenching, ductbank, manholes — sits outside that scope and is contracted separately.
Preconstruction
Triumph reviews the route, the crossings and any existing survey data during preconstruction to establish what can be bored and what requires open cut.
